Year 6 have just completed an Art unit looking at Art as a Social Commentary.
Their final task was to chose a social issue and create a self portrait incorporating text, on the iPad. It tied into their English unit on the Media.
The aim of the self portrait wasn’t to ‘tell people what to think’, (like in advertising) but rather create an artwork that poses a ‘question’ and gets the audience thinking about a particular issue.
